“Hoppy”
AMRAP 20 minutes

CPL Mathew Hopkins 21 years old, was a valued member of the 7th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment and the former 5/7 RAR. “Hoppy” was serving with the Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force (MRTF) in Afghanistan when he was killed while conducting a patrol near Kakarak when he and his team were engaged by a group of around 20 Taliban on Monday 16 March.

He is survived by his wife Victoria and their son, Alexander.
He is remembered by the Men of 5 and 7 RAR
