CrossFit Territory

  • Eat meat and veg­eta­bles, nuts and seeds, some fruit, lit­tle starch and no sugar. Keep intake to lev­els that will sup­port exer­cise but not body fat. Prac­tice and train major lifts: Dead­lift, clean, squat, presses, c&j, and snatch. Sim­i­larly, mas­ter the basics of gym­nas­tics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to hand­stand, pirou­ettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these ele­ments in as many com­bi­na­tions and pat­terns as cre­ativ­ity will allow. Rou­tine is the enemy. Keep work­outs short and intense. “Hoppy”

AMRAP 20 minutes

Wall ball, 10kg, 15

CPL Mathew Hop­kins 21 years old,  was a val­ued mem­ber of the  7th Bat­tal­ion, Royal Aus­tralian Reg­i­ment and the for­mer 5/7 RAR. “Hoppy” was serv­ing with the Men­tor­ing and Recon­struc­tion Task Force (MRTF) in Afghanistan when he was killed while con­duct­ing a patrol near Kakarak when he and his team were engaged by a group of around 20 Tal­iban on Mon­day 16 March.

He is sur­vived by his wife Vic­to­ria and  their son, Alexan­der.
He is remem­bered by the Men of 5 and 7 RAR
